Polynesian Culture Center
We had superior travel agents - Will and Jane Russell had visited the Hawaiian Islands scads of times. Living in Seattle is a real advantage. They have a 2 hour time difference and only a 6 hour flight. And they were simply phenomenal! Jane lived on Oahu while her dad was in the US Navy. To give us a feel for the island they suggested we head to the Polynesian Culture Center which is located 2 hours from Honolulu. You could do a complete circle of HHI in a matter of 45 minutes. Our island is Low Country. That equates to FLAT! We were in awe of the vistas. About the only flat part of the island is near the shores. The Center had displays of every island in Polynesia. I took photos of each one we visited. At the 3 PM, each island was represented by a float of folks doing a dance indigenous to their particular island. Hopefully the photos will help tell the story better than words.....
Our first stop along the highway was a large U shaped vista. Folks by the hundreds snorkel as they look for sights of marine life.
The cost line is not straight!
With a little snow this could be a skiers paradise!
