Blarney Castle

The gift of gab rock!  Once again we lucked out on a decent day -- overcast but not raining.  The castle is a photographers dream.  I took many more than I posted.  Who wants to see ten versions of the same castle.  After the Blarney Stone smooch we headed to the Muckross House built in 1843.

Surrounding area was just waiting for a photographer

Lookout towers

Distant view of the Castle

Getting to the top floor required going up a very narrow and winding stair case.

Where bad boys were kept.

Di is claustrophobic -- she headed for the wool market.

Zoe rests after the hike up the steps.

Chuck is on his way up.

Stairwell was very demanding ------  folks ready to kiss the Blarney Stone

Phil getting the "gift of gab"!

Zoe gets the gab too!

Jim Gaunt gives it a smooch

We couldn't get Jim to shut up afterwards!

Kate had to kiss the stone out of self defense!

I kissed the stone in '98

View from the top floor of the area.

Front view of the Muckross yard.

The grounds were immense, see the horse and wagon?

The Queen of England stayed here on her visit

Ready to take the tour

Did I hear a click of a shutter?

Where is the bus?

Exploring Kenmare

We found a marvelous pub.

On our way to Aghadoe Heights hotel

Now that is a lonely fisherman!

It was overcast most of the day.

Sunset

The gals all sat at one table and the men at another.  They were 10 times as loud as us!

Pam, Theresa, Di and Gail
