We enjoyed 850 years of Danish history as we floated along the waterways of Copenhagen. We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the city and the waterways. Most of the boats were in excellent shape. A good number are homes. They pay a dockage fee and also may hook up to electric, water and waste utilities. Since the canals are full one may have to buy a broken down boat for considerable more than it is worth to get the space to dock your own boat. Sounds like HHI where we see old homes torn down and new going up. Although the day looked gloomy it did have moments of sun. We were comfortable in a wind breaker. We walked the Copenhagen version of the "Magnificent Mile" and it may be longer than a mile. It was far more than kiosks. Stores of all kinds were lures for DI. Me, I'd rather watch the people walk by. This is the boat we took. The bridges were dangerously close to the top of the boat. We sat in the rear without the canopy so pictures would be easier to take. I forget what this is Look, Michelangelo's "David" all the way from Florence Capital building Opera House Entering a canal This is a "boater home". Notice the flowers on the second boat. It definitely is a home. Passing another boat was scary! Glad we weren't the pilot. The canals run through and around the entire city. This is one hot babe! This spire can be seen for miles New Library This is the center of the long shopping street. The street goes on for a long way, full of shopping opportunities. Lots of sail boats moor here.
