Dromoland Castle

We stopped at a local farm and Paddy took us on a walk around his cattle farm.  He raises cattle for slaughter as well as dairy cows.  The farm had been in the family for 5 generations.  His son is now managing the farm.  And today it is quite different than in years past.  His son has his college degree in farming.  They have substantial acreage and rent acreage from other land owners.  Our last stop on the tour was the fabulous Dromoland Castle.  Tauck hosted a cocktail party and dinner.  We were in bed early, packed and on our way to Shannon AP by 9:30 AM.  Our return flights were on time, our luggage made it too!  We arrived at home after 22 hours of travel!

This was a typical road, narrow, no berm at all, scary as all get out!

Some roads are even narrower!

Paddy tells us about the farm

His son walks us through the dariy -- a must job twice a day for 3 hours each -- 24/7!
