Kilkenny

On the way to Kilkenny we stopped at Powerscourt Gardens.  The grounds cover hundreds of acres including a golf course and amazing gardens.  The building and gardens date back to the 1800s.

On every ride through the country we see scenes of rolling hills and decaying old buildings.

This tower may not have been occupied for centuries.

Powerscourt gardens covered many acres.

It took an hour just to hike the inner rectangle of the gardens

Lucky there isn't a bee in that rose!

Here's a close up.

The walls define certain types of flowers, over 200 different species are represented.

The fences are tinted with gold paint.

Weather was moderate -- probably 60 and no rain.

Monarch Butterfly

The colors were awesome.

How many bees can you spot?

Ponds with fountains look so tranquil.

Di has more ideas for the back yard now!

Greens vary in shades

This would be a great place to live as a fish too!

Which is older the tree or me?

Powerscourt is named for Richard Viscount Powerscourt

It was sure a refreshing walk.  We followed the exercise with a delightful scone and coffee.

We lucked out on the weather this morning, from noon until the next morning it rained.

Sure am glad I don't have to mow the lawn!

Mountains surround the area.
