Atlanta to Sun City

1/2 Monday  We left for BH around 11:30 AM.  Our plan was to have lunch at BH then go to Bassos' and wait for the Luxury Shuttle to pick us up and take us to SAV.  The weather was cold, windy and rainy.  As so often is the case, we are not the only place affected with bad weather.  The driver got us and our luggage loaded into the bus.  The traffic was at a standstill on I-95.  We took the back route to SAV but when we arrived we were told our connecting plane was not yet off the ground.  Our 5 PM flight was delayed to 8:45 PM.  Fortunately we did get to Atlanta around 10 PM.  It was an annoying delay.  We missed the Ohio State - Notre Dame game.  Our plan to stay in Atlanta so we would not miss the early flight to SA was a wise move.

We did manage to get to Atlanta safely even if it was with a 5 hour delay.  The morning arrived early for we had to be packed and ready to go by 6 AM.  Then off to the Atlanta AP, a long wait through security, board the plane at 10 AM and then pray for a safe 18 hour flight o Johannesburg.  That leg of the trip went perfectly on time.

Andrew Swindon met us in Jberg, and in no time we had cleared all the formalities, had our luggage in tow and were boarded on a bus to "Sun City".  It took only 1:30 hours to get to Sun City.  And what a beautiful place this is.  The following photos may help to convey the "Luxury" we enjoyed.  I for one have never seen the likes of a place so elegant.

We met with the group for cocktails and dinner.  All of us were bushed from the travel and soon after dinner were soundly asleep.  The following several days we played golf.  The Gary Player Course is rated the best in all of South Africa.  And according to my rating it truly was the best of the 6 courses we played.

Here are the first of the pictures from Monday 1/2 and Wednesday 1/4.  The missing day was spent on an airplane!
