After visiting 6 courses none can come close to our practice facility. Several didn't even have a place to hit a ball before teeing off. The weather cooperated. Each day we saw some clouds but the temp was in the high 70s. Wind was tolerable and besides a few house flies, bugs did not exist. We were surprised to find no mosquitoes, no-see-ums, gnats, bees etc. The Sun City Course was quite a challenge. From tee to fairway there was often a good carry. Di had more trouble than she bargained for. The next day we played the Player Course. Andrew Rice commented on how far Di has improved. She had her best day on the Player course. I can sure understand why they rate the course #1 in SA. We took caddies on the Player course. My bag toter was ailing from a tooth ache. He had to take public transportation for 45 kilometers each day. He had a daughter. He said he lived in the area all his life. He wound up with a good size tip, a hat and the towel to clean clubs. About all he did was carry the bag! The caddies seemed more than interested in the game. We know they were betting between them. I birdied no. 16 and saw my caddie smile widely! My back had been sore for several days. I think the traveling caused much of it. Sitting in a seat upright for 18 hours didn't help! Food was excellent. The local fish of the day is called "Line Fish". I often ordered it. Frankly the preparation camouflaged the type of fish anyway. Waterbok and Springbuck were common meat selections. I enjoyed both. The gravy on top took away any gamey taste. I ordered them more than once and had the option to bail out to fillet of beef. Calamari was grilled and it was excellent too. On every menu they had salads and we often had Greek Salad. Olives and feta cheese were wonderful. The pictures should help to tell the rest.
